van den Dries & co BV was founded in 1890 in Antwerpen by the
late Jos van den Dries, a grain trader and broker in a great variety
of agricultural products, esp. grains seeds and beans. In 1920 his son
Roger van den Dries together with Joe Kording founded an office
in the old innercity of Rotterdam. Joe Kording and Sicco Mansholt,
one of the founders of the European Community, made a great contribution to
the reconstruction of the graintrade after World War II
with the help of the Marshallplan.
became president of the Royal Dutch Grain Trade Organisation and
his sons in law joined the company in the fifties and took it over
after his resignation. In 1968 the company became the
co-founder of Codrico BV Rotterdam, now one of the leading maizeprocessingmills
in the EU, with a large range of products and semi-manufactures
for human consumption, animalfeedingredients and aguafeed
for fishbreeding around the word.
